If you have a connection, I would keep it airside where at all possible. The first check-in may seem exclusive, but in all honesty it's just another check-in. I don't think trying a different type of check-in desk will enhance the First experience by any stretch of the imagination. However, you have a very long connection so it's entirely up to you. I try to stick to MCT where possible to reduce my travelling time (risky I know).
