You can determine what the super saver level is by looking at AS's reward charts. For example,
this one is the chart for flights within a state. If I want to fly from San Diego to Monterey or Santa Rosa, I learn that I need to find a super saver seat at 7,500 miles. I then go and check for award space. If it is anything other than 7,500 miles, BA won't see award space and cannot ticket.
If you look at that page whose link I gave you, on the left hand side, you'll see other award charts. If you want to fly between states or to Hawaii or Mexico, click on the appropriate link to find the mileage level you subsequently need to find when checking for award space.
