What month did you go, and how did you find the villa pool water temp, given that its unheated?
We went last summer (around July) so water temperature was not an issue at all. The water was very warm in all pools and especially warm in the relative smaller Villa pool. Ocean you got pretty much whistled back as soon as you go a little deeper. But this is also quite common in China.
There was no kids club at the Conrad (at least we couldn't find one). I saw that they state it on the web site but we didn't ask and didn't notice anything on the site itself either. Close to no kids at the Conrad though (we only met 1 couple with 2 children our son's age).
We did walk to the Doubletree and stayed in their kids area a bit. Wasn't very impressed with the kids pool / area. We did not look at their kids club and I can't tell how good it is or what they do.
In July there were more or less only Chinese at the Doubletree and I am not so sure how well their kids club stuff might speak English and most Children would only speak Chinese (all the ones in the water did).
