And, I do too. In past years, I paid for membership with miles.
When $mi$ek took over, he stopped allowing 1K's to pay with miles. So, I got the Chase card with a "first year free" promotion, and therefore, I take a seat in the club, and I paid nothing for it. Incidentally, if he had not been so greedy, I'd have gladly continued paying for the club rather than pursuing the free card option. Now, it's unlikely I'll renew.
