Maybe I misunderstood what was happeing in the past but the last two years I have called GP Diamond line and requested reservations on points about 11 months ahead of when we were going to stay.

I did not have enough points to pay for the rooms then but they said that they woudl still hold the Award Room (that is how they showed up on my reservations) and I could accumulate the points and then they would take them just prior to my check in date. And about a week prior ot checking in, I had lots of points and they were taken from my account.

Just got off the phone (and called a second time and got a second agent) and neither one was able to do such a booking. They said that I needed to hold the rooms on dollars and call each time I have enough points to pay for a night and if there was a reward night available at that time, I could switch and pay with points.

I thought one of the perks of Diamond was the ability to hold reward nights and pay for them as we accumulate the points (and if we do not have enough points then we are charged dollars).

GP Concierge or someone else, when did this change?
