Welcome to FlyerTalk!

If you are flying LA as a LA flight, you earn in accordance with LAN LANPASS rules if you are a LAN frequent flyer; if you wish credit to your AAdvantage account, you will earn according to this chart.

The chart clearly shows "N" class for Chile domestic flights credited to your AAdvantage account earns 25% Elite-Qualifying miles of the Base Miles flown, and 50% of those for Elite-Qualifying Points.

If you were flying LA as an AA codeshare, you earn as if you were flying on American Airlines - different chart, here.

Additionally, for AAdvantage status elite members (only):

AAdvantage Elite Status Member Benefits
The following benefits apply to AAdvantage Executive Platinum, AAdvantage Platinum and AAdvantage Gold members when flying on LAN or their affiliate airlines:
  • Minimum mileage guarantee for travel on flights under 500 miles
  • Additional elite status bonus miles for AAdvantage Executive Platinum and
  • AAdvantage Platinum members and AAdvantage Gold members
Basically, the airline who is awarding the miles call the shots. "El que paga, manda."
