You should be able to log on to Amex website and see your offers. If you have the offer to upgrade you will not get a hard pull. If the offer is not there, call. CS will tell you while you are on the phone if they can upgrade without pulling credit. If accounts are in good standing most likely you are good, but it does not hurt to ask. If you don't want to call, e mail. I am amazed but Amex responds to e mails usually within hours and can handle just about anything, then you have it in writing.
