I'm a relatively new TK member -- as a result of a status match. I've started to accumulate M&S and now have enough to upgrade an upcoming (end of March) TK flight from Comfort to Biz.

From what I've read on this board, I thought that TK uses "J" fare class seats to fulfill upgrade requests. Flightstat shows 9 J seats available in biz. When I called TK to get the upgrade, I was told there were no upgrade seats available but they could put me on their upgrade waiting list. If a seat becomes available, the agent said they would email me and hold the seat for me until I called to confirm.

The agent told me that because I am Elite with TK that I would have priority on the list but he could not tell me what number I am on the list.

• Does anyone have any experience with this upgrade waiting list? Such as whether you were contacted prior to departure and how soon you were contacted after you got on the list?

• Does anyone know what class of fare I should be looking for in order to determine if there are any upgrade seats that eventually become available?

Any help would be much appreciated.
