Not allowed to request a seat? [CX flight]

Not sure if this should go in the BA or CX forum, so feel free to move it if needed.
I'm BA Silver member and have booked a trip from CDG>HKG>TPE and back again on the CX website.
I've entered my BAEC number but when I go to select a seat it says "You are not eligible to request a seat in advance. Please check in online to select your preferred seat up to 48 hours before your flight"
When I look at the CX website it says that as OneWorld Sapphire I can select a seat in advance, even an extra leg room seat.
Any idea what is wrong here?
