This promotion is bound to result in so many intra-California A-listers that they will all be getting B boarding numbers on commuter-heavy flights. My occasional A40 (as A-list preferred) will probably move down to A50.
Fortunately I don't care about the downgrade. I just want a cheap seat.
Yes I was thinking about the ripples in the pond this creates. It seems to me it creates the perfect storm for those that are high B's or worse to ponder that $40 upgrade. Those that would be the most sensitive to boarding position just got pushed further down the trough may now see that fee as a way to leap back forward.
