If someone has a Marriott vacation timeshare, is there any way to generate miles out of that?
Here are a couple ways tp generate miles from your timeshare:
1. Usually Marriott owners are allowed to convert their weeks to MR points every other year. You didn't specify which type of miles you are interested in, but MR points can be converted to miles with most airlines. However, the conversion rates are not very attractive, and you normally will get more value form using MR points for hotel stays.
2. Attend "Owners Update" presentations when you stay at the Marriott Timeshare. They usually offer MR points as a gift for attending. These points can then be converted to miles.
