Sorry, but I have to play devil's advocate here.

As an intra-North American flyer, the new rules have very little impact to me as an Elite member. The "improvement" in fact still leaves upgrade rules far more restrictive than previous years. The fact that they've been improved over 2002's gutted Aeroplan program is little consolation.

Bottom line: minor tweaking of rules does not restore value to Aeroplan.

The fact that I can now upgrade a V class fare on a trans-border segment does not make up for the fact that I can never obtain a workable reward ticket (or the fact that I've wasted hours upon hours on the phone with Aeroplan trying to get a seat!).

Sorry to be negative, but that's how I see it!
