You are not alone. Just returned from a multi-leg trip where all OW segments showed emerald except the hop across the Tasman with LAN, where I showed as ruby. Didn't concern me too much as its only 10 tier points and I was down the back. And I was ok to access the QANTAS First Lounge at SYD for a shower and a spot of scoff which was my main concern. But your experience will save me some frustration with BA. Won't even bother to follow up.

Should add that the LAN agent at SYD was very, very helpful. And a nice human being to boot.....
