I agree with the basic sentiment though. There is very little reason for someone who is legally in the UK to become an illegal immigrant in the Netherlands. Not all governments see reason though - and certainly the UK government seems very worried about the Swiss or Dutch overrunning the UK because of some obcure reason (which nobody in these countries would even dream to understand).
That is necessarily the case. Someone can have a UK visa (and thus be thre legally), but not a Schengen visa. Indeed someone could have come from anywhere, do an airside transfer, and not even be checked by UKBA.
And it's the same the other way around of course. Beside, I don't think the UK government is particularly worried about Dutch citizens (except of the Geert Wilders variety), and I can definitely state I am not him.
