Or perhaps we both agree that BA needs to sort itself out and have 1 consistent offering across hard and soft products.
No, the website isn't clear about that - do a dummy booking in WT+ for LHR-YUL in Jan 14 (when the 767 is operated), and look at the picture that is trying to entice you to upgrade to CW. It bears no resemblance to the actual seat you will encounter.
And in the specific CW product pages, it doesn't mention old CW either - although it does mention the A321 service exceptions.
I think in an ideal world an airline would have a consistent product offering across its network. But in reality, and especially for larger airlines, that just isn't always possible. Differences in seat design, pitch/width, on board amenities, IFE, airport experiences (fast track, lounges, priority boarding) plus the product changes they make testing things out (eg on-board upgrades, menu changes) etc mean that this is not normally achieved.
Does that make the airline worse? I don't know, we all deal with it I thinhk. Will the availabilty of hand-luggage only fares on a select number of routes from a particular airport make a big difference to the brand value? I don't think so.
