I would commend Aeroplan on the new upgrade policies, esp for Elites.

However, I only knew about these new policies by reviewing FT - esp Empress' and others' threads. I think a major round of appreciation and thanks should be addressed to Empress, and others, who brought it to our attention.

As a corollary, there has been no official announcement, or notice anywhere by AC/Aeroplan (ie AC/Aeroplan web site, Aeroplan newsletter etc) about these new upgrade policies (and esp these policies will be valid with the 2002 upgrade certs expiring on Feb 28, 2003). Without such a communication of such a policy change regarding upgrades by AC/Aeroplan, to the general flying public, what good is a new policy, if nobody (outside of FT) knows about it?

PS-Will any travel columnists of the major Canadian newspapers, be reporting on these new upgrade policies?
