How about a 'Thanks' for the new upgrade policies?

I've spent the past 5 weeks looking at people's reaction to the new upgrade policies since they were made public here. There are constant complaining about Elite will not get better but let's look at the reality.

Elite got a major boost to the upgrade program compared to 2002. You get more chance to upgrade domestically because the Systemwides are now useable on all flights, not only international.

You can upgrade from 7 to 4 days before departure. That's a gain of up to 4 full days from before.

You can upgrade on international flights to places like HKG, SYD and so on. This is a major change from 2002. You no longer need to buy full Y for these places if you want to upgrade.

Prestige gained big time as well since they'll get more opportunities to upgrade.

I've saw maybe one person said 'Wow, thanks for the new upgrade policies, they're more generous than 2002!'.

Sure, the implemenation part of it could have been done better.

Credit where credit is due. I think the improvement of the upgrade program deserves a .

My point is - let Aeroplan knows what they are doing right - the improvement to the upgrade program is definitely one of them. They thought it was so good such that they are allowing the use of 2002 certs with the 2003 rules. They didn't have to do that, but they thought that would be a nice touch.

You want them to listen? Let them know what they've done well in addition to what needs improvement. Not just constant bashing.
