Dec21 is peak travel time, but it does not matter whether or not aeroplan inventory is available. They will re protect you on any AC flight.

This option looks good:

AC180 YVR YYZ 11:30 - 18:55
AC1196 YYZ YYT 20:40 - 01:09

Call them and ask for this routing.
