This is obviously false. Why should anyone value this statement of theory over the actual experience of people (myself included) who have gotten LLL on itineraries containing such segments. As I've already noted upthread, on my one and only itinerary involving American Connection recently (LGA->ORD->CID), preCheck cleared fine at LGA.
I can't imagine why you think people have any incentive to make stuff up about this; for whatever reason, the information you've been provided is wrong.
