I am mainly replying to let you know that 5 nights is definitely NOT too long in AMS. AMS is one of the world's great cities for history, art, architecture, picture taking, food, general culture, and shopping. I have been to AMS many times, and I never tire of it! Brugge is also a place I have been several times, and it is a great place to visit too. There are boat tours available for both cities, and I would recommend them highly. When you are in AMS, you might also enjoy getting a car for one day, and driving towards Appeldorn and Otterlo, to split one day between the Palace Het Loo (close to Appeldorn) and the Kroller Muller Museum, which is about 18 KM away, close to Otterlo. Both are magnificent, and well worth the ride, which is through nice countryside, and the Kroller Muller is located inside a national park, which is also beautiful. You will enjoy your time in AMS, I am sure.

As far as the room it is the only option available. I will call the Plat desk and I am sure they will get it fixed up for me. Couldn't imagine a hotel charging a PP member $65 euros per night for something I am already entitled to.
