Upon reading the title, I thought this was going to be about airports checking your license plate when you exit the parking lots. They do this at ORD, which I always thought was weird. When I first moved to Chicago and had an out-of-state plate, they'd always ask what state it was from because it wasn't showing up clearly on their monitors. Total aside, but anyone know why they do this? I've asked and they just say they're told to do it. Anyway, back on topic...

Can't remember who, but I did see a Mercedes in the Chicago area with something like ORD HNL 1 (or something), which made me think it was a FTer.

Ours are issued in sequence, once they got to 999 PVG they would then go to 000 PGH
PVG to PGH? You Connecticutians (Connecticans? Connecticutters?) sure have an interesting way of sequencing your alphabet...

EDIT: Apparently, I have the airport code for Artesia, NM. Cool.
