I don't need to listen to all the scaremongering. I've experienced the place myself as recently as last month.
I defy anyone to favourably compare - for BAEC Gold members - the LHR T1 experience with that of T5.
I think it's in many ways nicer than GC at T5, its quieter and has better showers. But it has less F&B selection and falls short of GF by a margin. I fly through T5 enough and like the change. But if my main route was at T1, I would be frustrated.
