I find that there is really nothing much to do in Shanghai unless you are there for work. So being in Pudong wasn't a negative for me, and the PH has some stunning suites with good service.

Always been happy with the Pen in Bangkok, cheaper than the MO as well.

FS in Singapore is also definitely nothing special.
