I actually fear this happening, thinking since I fly a lot it may well happen eventually. Sorry, but there is NO WAY that I will accept being held hostage for 8 hours on the tarmac. Which of course raises the question if they can get stairs there for medics how is it not possible to get stairs there to release the captives?

Why do you think most posters and public at large think this is OK because of the weather excuse? Weather is the reason the light night be delayed or canceled, that is understandable but keeping folks locked up because of incompetence or unwilling to make changes to process is not. Treatment of paxs that way is, again I will say, criminal.
