I have two questions:

1. I discovered my last activity wasn't an award stay in Mar 2012, it was a HGVC Tour bonus in May 2012. Leaving aside the fact I didn't do such a tour , would the award stay have kept my account alive? There was no cash involved, only points.

2. Since May isn't that far away, I decided to test the HHonors Mall now. I went through their link to Staples and made a small purchase. When should I expect to see the points post? This is a lot better than buying another 1000pt and I could see doing this every 10mo or so rather than buying points at the last minute.
