I don't know where you get the idea that AA "is really British Airways" as they're two entirely different companies and products, but if cost and EQMs were no object I would choose BA for the best J service. Otherwise I would probably depart from YVR on KLM and fly via AMS. I would not opt to fly DL.
What I meant is that it's British Airways metal (AA codeshare). I know we get Alaska miles for AA, but am not sure if we get Alaska miles when AA is a codeshare on another airline. Make sense?
