In retrospect I should've just thrown the bag away and bought a new one for the person when I got to Denmark. It would've been cheaper than paying $285.

I explain why I had the third bag check it. And I do realize that "anyone" could use that excuse. I had mistakenly assumed that being a diamond and million miler I would've got the benefit of the doubt.

If the bag would've belong to me I would've combined the items into two bags and just thrown the third one away. But it wasn't mine and I certainly didn't think the third that would be that much.

I'm not disputing the policy or that the agents singled me out. I just think under the circumstances there should've been a little leeway. I guess not.
