I was surprised to see that I would have been charged $25 for a "Choice Seat" even when Moving Up about 70 minutes before the flight, and I'm Preferred.
Everybody gets charged for Choice Seats regardless of status. The only time those are given away for free is about 30 mins or so before departure at the gate.
