Far from useless - I am using mine for a SJU-MIA flight (which will be on AA, of course) and the taxes and fees are two bucks!

If I recall correct, the mileage through BA is about a third of that through AA!

(Partly because BA works a per sector and a sector length policy (and it is one flight and not very long from SJU to MIA), whereas AA works on a zone-to-zone basis (so same price for SJU-MIA as SJU LAX)

And then you can book great low fees and taxes with Iberia (you can check online) and Air Lingus.
