I was stuck in the gridlock. After we circled as long as the pilot thought advisable, we landed and stayed far away from the terminal, on taxiways coated with snow, no pavement visible (much snowier than downtown, although Mr Flyquiet said it was a whiteout situation on the Gardiner coming to get me).

But it wasn't the snow. We were told that it was the Lufthansa on fire (and/or the emergency vehicles) that was blocking a taxiway being the reason nobody could get to those gates.

We sat on the ground for 2 hours (starving, as we were just on a 5:00 to 7:30 "hop" and I expect most of us in Y were anticipating having dinner shortly after landing). I feel for the people stuck for 8 hours.
