NYC/ORD/LAX are important O/D markets in and of themselves. I'm not sure a rebalancing towards PHX/CLT/PHL would actually make that much sense.

US has a smaller program, and even if it merged into a program that mostly resembles US' current program, you'd see it adopt ow-style elite tiers (with the appropriate lounge access) and see AA's elites shifted over into it.
