The CX-related thread on the AA-US merger

While allowing the past to stay in the past, but with a nod to Cathay Boy for attempting a v1.0, is there interest in a v2.0 thread on this?

I see several ways this merger (including the folding of the existing US into oneworld) can affect CX pax:

1. Route network connecting to/from CX gateways. Perhaps we can speculate/update on possible changes. I'm guessing JFK, ORD and LAX are the major existing AA hubs where you could see route adds/drops or retimings that would affect CX pax.

2. New service by a merged AA in Asia. Will this affect routing options for AsiaMiles rewards?

3. Elites/lounge access. I wonder how many current pax on UA/*A carriers through HKG are actually US elites who will eventually be eligible for CX lounge access.

It's all highly speculative right now. But what are the other CX-related areas people might be watching as the merger progresses?
