I agree, but it's difficult to argue with them, since they usually come back with "the difference between what you spend on the road and what you would normally spend on food is made up by the $15/day." I still think it's ridiculous though. If I am on the road for you, I think there should be certain little perks (decent per diem, decent hotel, keep points) to make up for the fact that I don't get to come back to my own home, or spend the weekend with my friends and family. But hey, when did employee happiness and well being become a concern of theirs?
