I don't believe for one minute that BA change prices based on searches. It's just not feasibile unless they are solely in control of fare availability. They're not. They publish it on GDSs and most people search on places like expedia or orbitz, not on ba.com. Perhaps Amadeus can report to BA how many searches were done for each flight and class on each date, but going by the state of BA's IT, I apply Occam's razor there and deduce that they don't.
Were they both the last seat available?
