Still doesn't say why they have to be US citizens though. Maybe because of all the crime we have over here compared to the USA they feel that any non-USA national is a risk to security.
So can anyone explain why the junior ones that sit in the booths MUST be US citizens (apart from maybe it is just a case of, "that's the rules / that's how it is"). Do we have the same rules for our immigration officers too I wonder...so must be UK nationals only for all grades of officer?
Oh. and the UK has ex-army and ex-police folk. The ex-forces ones will have served on the same side as their US counterparts
