Albergo Cesare or Senato?

Apples to oranges. Albergo Cesari does not have a lobby, my TV didn't work, and despite being there for four days they never sent someone to fix it. That said, it was clean, the front desk is helpful, the location is ideal, and the rooms are spacious. Albergo Senato is more of a luxury hotel and the room rate is about double what it costs to stay at Cesari. You just have to decide if you want to spend about $200 a night or about $400 a night. If you want to stay more on a budget, Albergo Cesari is a very fine hotel, with an exceptional (but pricey) rooftop outdoor bar, and will not disappoint. The hotels are only a few blocks from each other. I don't think you can really recommend one hotel or the other without taking cost into consideration. Albergo Cesari is probably one of the best bargains in Rome for quality and location.
