Not necessarily.
There is a concession (mentioned in an earlier post) whereby some nationals who would normally need a visa may go landside without a visa in certain circumstances - and these circumstances include staying at a hotel during an unavoidable overnight stop.
The OP needs to check if he qualifies for the concession.
