If you pick the right dates, you can do YVR-SFO-LHR, LHR-SFO-SYD, SYD-SFO-YVR (27,170 miles) on United metal for under $2000. You'd need to tweak things a bit to satisfy the AC metal requirement, but I'm guessing you could still manage SE in about $8000.
