Hi, I get upgraded a lot on BA so I have taken to booking into WTP and hoping for an upgrade as I suspect have a lot of budget conscious travellers also have. If it works great, if it doesn't fine. Luckily my holiday flight to Singapore was upgraded both ways with the missus but no joy on my trip to Atlanta last week.

I am flying to HK in a couple of weeks in WTP and I have the option to buy good seats there and back for £100. My question is does this prevent me being upgraded? I wouldn't have thought so but since I learnt that asking for a veggy meal prevents an upgrade (the missus not me), I though I better ask. It looks busy in the back and not so bad upfront so it seems a good upgrade target especially based on previous trips to APA.
