he: Where?
Me: Guam
He: Can you spell that?
Me: G-U-A-M.
He: That's short for Guatamala?
Me: No, it's an island
He: Oh, I see it. It's in South Korea.
Me: No, it is a US territory in the Pacific.
He: I thought you said Guam.
Me: I did say Guam
He: What country is Guam in?
Me: The airport code is GUM
He: There is no A in it.
Me: I know, I gave you the iata airport code.
He: You gave me what?
Me: Thanks for your time.
I hung up and booked with Alamo. It was so funny, I couldn't even be mad at the guy The conversation took about 5 mins as he was hacking feverishly on his keyboard during this exchange.
I don't know what's funnier, the agent not knowing what Guam is or the concept of calling around to get rate quotes
