With all due respect, your post makes you sound like a card carrying member of another sort of organisation. There is no need to be so political (and paint with such a broad brush, at that) when OP asked a very simple, unoffensive question.

Now he knows to avoid NYC if he wants $50 rooms. But I doubt he didn't know that to begin with.
