AC has (more or less) a monopoly and their arragonce has always been obvious, but recently it's over the top.

Here's a thought - obtain status on US (dividend miles) this year rather then AC. With US/AA merger the DM program will likely be rolled into AA's FF program and tied to OW. US/AA's network in North America would make OW a viable option for FF's who do a lot of USA travel. It would get really interesting if West Jet ever went OW then there would actually be a reasonable choice and competition for CDN FF,s!
