Hi all. Long time flyer talk lurker and life long UA flyer that decided to status match over to BA Gold after finally getting fed up with UA. Did the status match last October and have flown business class from SFO>LHR 4x. So far, every time I've called to request upgrade, I'm told there's no space available in F. Just booked my next trip last night for 3/3 and was told again that there's no space available. BTW, I typically book my trip 10-15 days out.

Is this usual or am I missing something? I expect low success rate on UA but didnt' think it be the same on BA. I only use my FF points for upgrades and at this point am rethinking the switch to BA.

Suggestions? Or am I just SOL?
