But IMO, WFBF is not a fair response when talking about trying to use SWUs on JFK-LAX/SFO, for which I have never seen JCDI fares under thousands of dollars. (If anybody else has, please chime in.)

Furthermore, the whole point of SWUs is to give flyers a better chance at getting upgrades on flights where it is otherwise difficult or not possible to get a complimentary upgrade.
