YVR vs YYZ

This is probably a super obvious post, but I don't know...

Just got offered a job in YVR. Day job will not likely involve significant travel, except for occasional conferences, though do get 7 weeks of leave a year.

Currently live in YYZ. Most of my family, professional and research interests are in the Triangle and in the US Mid-Atlantic and North East (typically YYZ, YUL, YXU and YOW, and BOS, NYC, PHL, BWI/DCA) as well as ORD. Very few professional interests on the WC, though have friends/family in SFO, LAX.

Being a FF, and building a non-profit on the side in addition to my day job, I take lots of weekend trips as it is now to NYC / ORD / BOS / PHL for work (typically paying out of pocket, though occasionally funded), and I am just wondering how my life is about to change if I decide to base myself in YVR.

Does Philly/Bmore/New York for a weekend go to holy hell?

Do I end up driving to Seattle a lot instead of flying out of YVR?

Is this a bad idea?

Would love some insight from the West Coasters....
