Hi,

I’ve been an Aeroplan member for more than 20 years and I’m a very loyal Air Canada customer.

I just cannot believe what has happened to my favorite airline.

I noticed the lack of availability of reward flights and the option to get a reward for double or triple the airmiles a long time ago and I still held on.

I got rid of my CIBC Gold Aeroplan visa because I saw the futility of accumulating miles and then having them devalued so considerably.

I will never again use a credit card that offers Aeroplan miles because behind the scenes Aeroplan and Air Canada are working hard year in and year out to devalue these miles to the point of insanity.

I still hung on when reward tickets starting costing me more for fuel and other surcharges than a fully paid ticket on an alternative lower budget airline. This of course makes one really think about what Aeroplan and Air Canada consider to be a “reward ticket”. It’s not a free ticket at all anymore it’s just discounted.

I still hung on.

I fly to Asia and Ireland a lot and now the new fare structure is really my last straw. I cant use my eupgrade credits at all as I would have to purchase a Tango plus fare which is now almost double the cost to using United for the same itinerary. I now get half the status miles for these trips, however when I use United I get 100% status miles for Air Canada. How does that make any sense?

In addition for example if I book a Bangkok trip for April 2013, the cheapest fare available is 2400-2700 dollars on your website. If I go to Orbitz it will cost ne 1200-1300 dollars to book the same flights with Air Canada being the carrier. Then I get the privilege of not being able to use my upgrade credits. If I book Tango plus it will be almost 4000 dollars. What in the name of god are you guys thinking. If I go United I get a 1300 dollar fare and get 100% status miles.

I flew to Toyko from Calgary last month and Business class was almost empty and I couldn’t upgrade because of your changes. I need to give away my upgrade credits because they are so useless to me.

I am switching to United. For 2012 I flew 42 times with Air Canada, accumulating a useless 70000 miles. When you come to your senses it will be too late because I’m not coming back.
Bottom Feeder ... AC does not make money with your 1200$ fare to Asia ... they say GOOD RIDDANCE !!

I for one will pay 3000$++ and be almost sure to fly J both ways!! If you can't afford it it's not AC's problem !! On my fare they will make a good profit and stay afloat!!

GO AIR CANADA!
