Miles accumulated on AA will undoubtedly combine with US balances when the programs fully merge (currently they claim 3rd quarter, which seems optimistic to me). It appears that their plan is to keep the programs completely separate until they switch to one reservation system which would preclude crediting one airlines miles to another's program in the meantime.
