I'm not the best person to comment on transpacific economy seats, but from my experience of both airlines I would say that Malaysia Airlines has a couple more inches of legroom in economy, whereas Singapore Airlines will probably have a slightly superior IFE offering on the A380. Food and service on both will be far superior to US offerings.
