Have you contacted the airline to file your claim ? I would.
Friends had told me to expect dents to the Topas so I left the airport thinking it was poor but normal. However only when I got home and unpacked did the frame warping become apparent. I expected better from Rimowa but by the time I got the 2 fingered salute from them it was some time after the incident.
I fundamentally think these bags are not fit for purpose If other bags on the same trip emerge with only normal scratches and bashes and the Rimowa emerges unusable I don't see that being an airline issue personally.
The problem is this product is unfit for use as a check in bag unless you have your own staff and a private jet so they can wrap it in cotton wool throughout it's journey.
The Topas is a classic example of form before function. Functionally it is unfit for purpose. However I am left nursing a 700 euro mistake. I am exploring my legal options here in the UK.
