I did that w/ my sister's airline account after she died of breast cancer. We had discussed it in advance in case either of us died on our mutual accounts. I'd rather my points go to a relative or a good friend than go to waste. She felt the same. Of course she didn't have as many points as I did, but hers did enable me to attend a FT Do.
